WVIS had a Spring Clean May 13th 2023

Several High School Students, including the Tennis Team members and WVIS members were on hand to work. They spruced up the Tennis Courts, cleaned out the Garage for Whirygig Camp use, cleaned up trash and brush and spread mulch in the playground area.

All our volunteer help was greatly appreciated.

WVIS Annual Meeting and Reception was held March 23, 2023

An update to the WVIS Bylaws, last revised in 1994, was voted on and passed at the Annual Meeting on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the Wenham Tea House. The business meeting began at 6:30 p.m. after a social hour starting at 5:30. Members in good standing were eligible to vote. If you were unsure of your status, you were asked to please contact WVISmembership@gmail.com. Wenham ladies (and those members who have moved out of Wenham) may renew their memberships or join WVIS online. Membership remains $50 or $25 for those ages 60+. We had a lively and enthusiastic group in attendance at our March 2023 meeting.

We look forward to seeing you at future Annual Meetings, now held each November. We hear reports from all committees, a slate of officers is nominated, the budget for the next year is presented, as well as any bylaw changes, and all are voted on by members attending.

2022 Summer Event Series - Tea house tuesdays

In 2022, we launched a free Summer Event Series in lieu of our traditional Park Program following a two year hiatus due to COVID-19.

A very special thank you to Charles Maier and Christopher Maio

Visitors to the Tea House Park will notice the the freshly refurbished picnic tables and new benches. They are a product of the hard work of local Boy Scouts Charles Maier and Christopher Maio. The WVIS is grateful for their efforts. Wonderful job, boys!

WENHAM ANNUAL TOWN MEETINGS

Since 1893, the Wenham Village Improvement Society has worked to beautify the Town of Wenham and make it a better place to live.

Honoring this tradition, the WIVS hosted the Town Meeting Lunch for all registered voters in the Town of Wenham, in years past.

Historically, the WVIS invited the community to the Buker School at noon for a special lunch prepared by the Wenham Tea House including assorted Finger Roll Sandwiches (Ham & Cheese, Chicken Salad and Veggie), Fresh Tossed Garden Salad, Chips, Pickles, Potato Salad, Fresh Fruit Salad, Fresh Baked Pies, Cookie Platter, and Coffee.

The Annual Town Meeting followed this event at 1:00pm. Special thanks were extended to our Wenham Village Improvement Society members, the Hamilton Wenham Garden Club and the Ayer Estate, the Town of Wenham and the Hamilton Wenham Regional School District for adding their efforts and resources to always make this day a success.
