2023 was the WVIS‘s 130th year of benefiting the town of Wenham and its residents.

We offer you an illustrated annual report highlighting our beginnings when the initial work was town improvement, our journey with the Wenham Tea House which opened for business in 1912 and has been in operation ever since, the founding of the Wenham Historical Association and Museum under our stewardship, and our philanthropic activities over these many years.

The Wenham Village Improvement Society has quietly influenced the life of our small town on Old Bay Road (1A). Though WVIS has grown and changed and kept up with the changing role of women in our society, it has remained true to its history, traditions and mission to ‘contribute to the welfare of the town’s people.’
